Tech Diversity is Overrated

Heard a lot of talk lately about how tech needs more diversity. Like, sure, it's a nice idea, but is it really necessary for progress?

Hiring based on skin color or gender, instead of skills? That's how you get mediocre work. A company should care about talent, not filling quotas.

The way I see it, tech is about solving problems. If you're good at it, you should be in. Anything else just complicates things.
